Guidance services in the high school focus on assisting students in monitoring their academic progress to attain a high school diploma and aid all students in identifying their options for post-high school vocational and academic planning, facilitate the college application process and collaborate with parents, teachers and administrators in order to foster academic and personal growth.

Parents/guardians and students should consider course selections carefully. The courses you select are preparing you for future college and career goals.

College bound students should begin to formalize their educational plans between 8th and 10th grades and plan their course selections accordingly. Early planning and goal setting are important so that you choose the appropriate courses to meet college admission requirements. Set your standard for personal achievement and practice positive study habits. Research shows that taking challenging and rigorous classes in high school is a very strong predictor of success in college and attainment of at least a bachelor's degree.

Our THS Guidance Department uses Naviance / Family Connection a web-based planning and advising tool for post-high school planning click on https://connection.naviance.com/teaneck to visit the site.
